Proscar is recommended for preventing testosterone conversion to dihydrotestosterone. DHT participates in the formation of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Proscar treats the signs of benign prostatic hyperplasia in men who have enlarged prostate.
Proscar is also useful for other conditions not described in the guide.
The dose recommended for men is a 5-milligram tablet every day.
You can take Proscar with meals or between the meals.
Go on taking Proscar even if you start feeling better.
Use Proscar at the same time every day. This helps you not to forget a dose.
Proscar is in the group of enzyme inhibitors. It lowers the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) that causes prostate growth. The reduction of DHT results in the enlarged prostate gland shrinkage.
Administer the missed dosage as soon as possible. If it is already time to take the next dosage, omit the missed one and proceed with your regularly dosing. Remember that you can't use tablets at a time.
Keep Proscar at a temperature below 30 degrees C. Store the drug away from light, moisture and heat. Never store the medicine in the bathroom. Store Proscar away from kids and pets.
