Altace

Altace is a drug generally recommended for managing high blood pressure and reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke, and death in certain patients. You can take alone or along with other medications. In combination with other drugs Altace is prescribed to treat heart failure and improve the state after a heart attack. If advised by the doctor the medication might be used for treating some other diseases.

Altace belongs to angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors. By its activity in the body it relaxes blood vessels. This effect helps to decrease blood pressure.

The medicine is not allowed for those who have allergy to a component in it or have had angioedema (which is swelling of the tongue, throat, hands, eyes, face, or lips; difficulty breathing or swallowing; and hoarseness) resulted from taking an ACE inhibitor. Pregnant women (2nd or 3rd trimesters) should avoid taking Altace.
