Maxalt

Maxalt is for managing acute migraine headache with or without aura viewed as dark spots, flashing lights, wavy lines. The drug cannot be taken for preventing cluster headaches and migraines.

Maxalt belongs to selective serotonin receptor agonists. Acting in the body it makes blood vessels in the brain relax, thus mitigating and relieving migraine.

You cannot use Maxalt if you are allergic to the ingredients containing in it. Patients suffering from ischemic heart disease, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, stroke, or uncontrolled hypertension are not to use this drug. Such medicines as serotonin receptor agonists (sumatriptan) if taken in the past 24 hours, ergot alkaloids (ergotamine), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (phenelzine) if taken in the last 14 days do not interact with the given drug.
